4th of July 2013; Nashville Style

The 4th of July is tomorrow! You know what that means...FIREWORKS!!! But, if you live in Nashville, the best city on Earth, there are SO many other options.

Here are a handful of things to do on Independence Day other than blow your hand up with a bottle rocket:

Adventure Science Museum

Adventure Science Museum - If you have kids, or you are a big kid, the Adventure Science Museum is going to have a fun exhibit called, The Science of Kaboom. It will be about all that go BAM, POW, and SPLAT! The fun begins at 10 am.

Monell's at the Manor

Monell's at the Manor - Monell's will be having a 4th of July Celebration. Starting at 6 pm, you can enjoy BBQ ribs, grilled chicken and shrimp, fried chicken, steamed clams, side dishes, homemade ice cream, cold soda, and watermelon! They will also have the Big Band Orchestra so you can listen to great music while you eat.
Hot Chicken Festival

Music City Hot Chicken Festival - If you haven't noticed, Nashville loves it's hot and spicy chicken. The Hot Chicken Festival starts at 11 am and ends at 3 pm in East Park ( 700 Woodland St.). There will be lots of vendors, along with an amateur cooking contest to see who has the best hot chicken around!

5K Run

Music City July 4th 5K/10K Run - This run benefits the Salvation Army and will loop around Public Square Park. Registration $40 and begins at 6:30 am and the race is at 7:30 am at the Public Square Park (10 Public Square).

Downtown Nashville Fireworks

And of course, you can't miss the 2013 Music City July 4th Fireworks Spectacular: Let Freedom Sing! Activities start at 7 pm and include The Band Perry, Keb Mo, and the Nashville Symphony to dazzle your ears while an amazing fireworks show dazzles your eyes. The fireworks show is set to being at 9:50 pm. But, make sure you get down there super early because the Riverfront park, the pedestrian bridge, and pretty much all of downtown Nashville becomes a cluster rather quickly. (And, the Adventure Science Museum is going to have seating so you can see the fireworks.)

If we missed an event, put it in the comments. We don't want to miss anything fun in Nashville!

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
